EMS ShieldWillingboro Emergency Medical Services is a combination department that is staffed by highly trained volunteer and per-diem Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs). The unit is overseen by the Township’s Fire Chief, who is assisted by a full-time Deputy Fire Chief, and one per-diem EMS Captain and one per-diem EMS Lieutenant. There are 10-15 per-diem EMT's, along with 5-10 volunteer EMT's and EMT Trainees that provide emergency medical care to the residents and visitors of Willingboro. These dedicated personnel staff at least one ambulance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The department responds to approximately 4,000 calls for service a year. The type of incidents it responds to include medical, diabetic, and cardiac emergencies, along with strokes and fall victims. The department also responds in unison with the Township’s fire department to motor vehicle and pedestrian-motor vehicle accidents, along with structure and vehicle fires and carbon monoxide alarm activations.

The department is located at the Fire and EMS Headquarters at 398 Charleston Road. All of the department’s personnel and administrative offices are stationed at this building. The department’s EMTs operate four ambulances, and one command vehicle that are also housed in the building.
