Who can register?
To register in New Jersey, you must be:
- a United States citizen
- 18 years of age by the next election
- a resident of the county for 30 days prior to the election
You are not eligible to register to vote if you are serving a sentence or on parole or probation, as a result of a conviction of an indictable offense under state or federal law and have been judged mentally incompetent.

Applications can also be obtained from the Division of Elections, the Commissioners of Registration office in Burlington County, or in person at the Township Clerk's office at the Municipal Building.

In addition, registration forms are available in various State agencies and at Division of Motor Vehicle offices and can be obtained while transacting agency business. You can print the registration application and after entering the required data, mail it to the following:

Voter registrations are maintained by the County Commissioner of Registration. You may register in person at that office, use the above referenced form, register at your municipal clerk's office, or at any one of the following state offices:
In addition, this form can be used for name and address changes. The County Clerk cannot accept faxed copies or an electronic transmission of a voter registration since an original signature is required.

Registration deadline is 21 days prior to election day.

How do I Vote by Mail or use an Absentee Ballot?
Download a Vote-by-Mail Ballot Application. After downloading the form, print it from your computer. Fill in all fields legibly, then mail the signed hardcopy to the Burlington County Clerk as listed below:

You may vote in-person using a Vote by Mail ballot at the Clerk’s office located at the above address until 3:00 PM on the day prior to the election date. Questions regarding voting by mail may be directed to the Clerk’s office at (609) 265-5122.
What is the deadline for voter registration?
You may register to vote at any time, but to be eligible to vote in a particular election, you must be registered 21 days prior to that election. All registration forms postmarked on the 21st day preceding that election will be accepted. (NJSA 19:31-6.1, 19:31-6.3)
