The Township’s Contract Hauler is not permitted to collect hazardous material. The Burlington County Landfill accepts hazardous materials. There is a fee for County Residents and Proof of County Residency must be provided. The landfill is located at: 21939 Columbus Road, Mansfield, NJ. For a list of accepted material, or for more information call The County landfill at 609-499-1001.

For General Information regarding Recycling residents can contact the County at 609-499-1001.

NOTE: Recycling carts are provided at no charge to residents and can be obtained by calling the Burlington County Recycling office or the DPW yard at 25 Industrial Drive at 609-877-2200 ext. 1051 or ext. 1107 Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 3PM. Carts will be distributed based on availability. 

Do NOT place garbage in these carts as you may be fined, and your recyclables will not be collected.

Major Appliances and Metals will be collected on Wednesday’s by appointment. Call 609-877-2200 ext 1051 to arrange for collection.

Leaves are collected in the Fall (between mid-October and early January).  All leaves should be placed curbside in the Fall.  Leaves can be dropped off at the DPW yard on every Saturday in April.  Leaves must be in clear bags for inspection.  

The Public Works Department sweeps 152 curb miles of Township maintained streets monthly. The schedule is as posted on the website and is weather dependent. Resource limitations may cause sporadic street sweeping at times. If a full schedule can be administered it will be done on a resource dependent basis.

The Department of Public Works maintains all street signs, stop signs and road signs throughout the town. The signs are replaced as needed according to a maintenance schedule. The upkeep of our streets requires constant vigilance and the department employees take pride in the town's clean and well-maintained roadways. Report any traffic signal outages to the Police Department at (609) 877-3000.

Potholes, street repaving, street sweeping, and sidewalk repair are all the responsibility of DPW.

Potholes and damaged sidewalks along Township maintained streets should be reported to Public Works at 609-877-2200 ext. 1051 or 1107.

• JFK Way from Rancocas Road to Old Salem Road
• Veterans Parkway
• Sunset Road (From Charleston Road to Route 541 )

PSE&G maintains streetlights. To report a street light outage, click here or call the customer service number on your electric bill.

Please have the following information available: pole number, street address and/or nearest cross street. 

The Township maintains storm drains throughout the town. Call 609-877-2200 ext 1051 to report a blocked storm drain. Have the address available when you call.

The Willingboro Township MUA maintains water mains. Call 609-877-2900 to report water main breaks or sewage back ups. Have the address available when you call.

Public Works crews plow and salt township streets and parking lots to clear snow and ice.

What Residents can do:

• Move parked cars off the street so snow plows can clear snow to the curb.
• Do not put snow back into the road since this can create ice patches.
• Shovel Snow from Driveway aprons to the LEFT facing your house. Try to shovel your driveway after snow plowing is complete if possible.
• Be patient during snow emergencies as crews work around the clock to clear the streets.
• Clear sidewalks in front of residence within 24 hours of the end of the storm.

During the spring & summer, the Township of Willingboro cooperates with the Burlington County Mosquito Commission to identify and control mosquito populations. Larviciding treatments are made by County personnel. Requests for local spraying should be made to the County Mosquito Control Department who will determine if spraying is warranted.

Unauthorized signs posted in the public right of way (also known as "litter on a stick") are not only illegal; they are also unsightly and distracting to motorists. Whether the sign advertises a yard sale, business, or political activity, these signs will be removed and disposed of by Township employees. The Public Works Department is not responsible for the maintenance of Willingboro Parks. For more information on our parks, please contact the Recreation and Parks Department.

The Fleet Maintenance Division is responsible for maintenance and repair of our township's vehicles (cars, trucks, light and heavy equipment, including buses). They are also responsible for responding to road calls, maintaining salt spreaders, snow plows, and the inventory of all parts and tires.

Tires can be brought in for Recycling to the Public Works Department on Saturdays for a fee:

All tires 18 inch and under:

• $5.00 for rimless tire
• $10.00 for tires with rims.

All tires 19 inch and higher

• $10.00 for rimless tire
• $15.00 for tires with rims.

Tires are not permitted in curbside trash and will NOT be collected.

The DPW is responsible for general road and pothole repairs, street sweeping, stormdrain and stream maintenance, leaf and brush pickup, roadside weed and grass control, tree work, roadway and parking lot line striping.
